Independent Bookshops
New Zealand

Bookshops and booksellers are the beating heart of the literary industry. This map shows my favourite bookshops in New Zealand - places which go above and beyond to promote community - but the list is by no means exhaustive!

Find a full independent bookshop directory in the section below.

(I would love this little map to grow, and to create a reader-led directory of the best bookshops in other countries as well! Please reach out if you would like to suggest any additions)

Bookshop directories:

New Zealand - Booksellers.com

United Kingdom - Bookshop.org

Australia - LoveYourBookshop

Europe - Biblio

Canada - IndieBookstores

USA - IndieBound

(Please note, sadly Charity Norman's books are not currently distributed in North American Bookstores. Nonetheless, we wanted to support the indie book scene in these countries and so included the directories)
